Tallow Soap
These soaps were made with Tallow (Beef or Pork). Tallow is a broad term for rendered animal fat. It is what our ancestors used to make soap and it is still used today. Most store brands will list it in the ingredients as Sodium Tallowate which is the term for Tallow that has been saponified (turned into soap). Tallow is often used as a replacement for Palm Oil to make a hard bar of soap with stable lather.
